What version of DNN is required to run v3.0.1 of CartViper? The download page says it will work with DNN version 5, but I am having problems.

I tried to upgrade v1.6.0 of CartViper using the v3.0.1 trial download and received this error: "Could not load file or assembly 'CartViper.Lucene.Net' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded."

I suspect this is because it requires DNN to be at v6+, but want to confirm before investigating further. (Got suggestions on how to back out the install without a backup?)

I am running DNN v05.06.08.

Thanks!

Hi,

If you change the .net version your dnn site is running under to .net 4.0 it should resolve the issue. Cart Viper works in version 5 onwards of dnn but we compile our assemblies against version 4.0 of .net so your site must also run using this or greater.

We would always recommend you take a full backup of the dnn site and database before attempting an upgrade.

Thanks
Nigel.
