We recently changed from Paypal to Stripe.  Our accountant is complaining that in the Stripe system, no name or description is recorded for the payments processed.  So there is no way to tell who the payment came from or any reference to the order number.  All we see is time, date, and amount.  This can't be right, in Paypal we were at least getting the cardholder's name.

What do you suggest?

Stripe response was:

If you're not seeing the customer's/cardholder's name in the Payment page of your Stripe account here: https://dashboard.stripe.com/payments then that means the integration of Stripe that you're using was not set up to pass that information on to us.

So for those charges being done through the API, the person who developed your integration of Stripe would need to check your code to start collecting the cardholder's name, and send us the product they purchased in the description. We're only able to display the information we're told to display.

… the developer needs to update the code to add a few parameters. That way when your server tells us to create the charges, we're also told to add additional information to them.

Okay, so this link will show them the description parameter that they need to send us the product details for: https://stripe.com/d…/api#create_charge-description

And this link will be where the cardholder's name needs to be included: https://stripe.com/docs/api#create_card_token-card-name

Hi,

Can you download and install the latest version:

http://www.cartviper.com/free-trial

Once installed you should get details in the Stripe merchant account like the below:

With the Cart Viper order ID is appended after the store name in the description field and the customer name is included in this view also. When you click on the transaction details you should also see the full billing address for the customer as well.

Regards

Thank you Nigel for this update... I installed as you suggested to Brian.

It's working better, but it's still not quite working correctly. We're using Stripe as well, but what we notice is that the Order ID is incorrect. I'll email you a pdf showing this issue, as it does contain a customer's name, etc.

Hi,

In version 3.7.0 we changed Cart Viper to have consecutive order ID's as a result the ID you see there is now an internal ID rather than the display order ID we would show inside of Cart Viper to admin / customers.

We have made a ticket for this issue and it will be resolved as part of release 3.8.0.

I saw you released 3.7.7  so is this resolved in this iteration or do we need to wait for 3.8.0 ?
THANKS!
