Hello Support,

Our web store using CartViper is working super nice. Now we would like to extend store to support multi language (eg. German and French)  contents (both Category and Product information). I Come to know that there is as an add-on available in CartViper store to fulfill this, but not much details is given. we would like to know
1. Does Add-on supports German and French both languages.
2. Does All Categories / Product Name/ Descriptions and other CartViper Elements will become multilingual after using add-on ?.

Thank you

Hi,

There are 2 parts to having a fully localized store in German and French:

1) The labels that are used throughout the store need to change based on the locale the user is browsing in.

2) The actual product names, category names, description etc need to match the locale the user is browsing in.

Point 1 is handled via resx files and will happen automatically when the locale is changed, if you have a look in the below folder you should see the resx files we have:

DesktopModules\cartviper\App_LocalResources

We do have French and German resource files, note they were created using an automatic translator so the language may not be 100% accurate but should give you a basis to work with and modify.

Point 2 is handled via the below add-on license:
http://www.cartviper.com/purchase/c/cart-viper/p/cart-viper-localization-add-on-license

It allows you to specify the language a product or category belong to and then based on the locale the user is browsing in we would only display those products. So if the user was browsing in the locale "de-DE" we would display the German products and categories. This allows you to change every element of the product / category to the specified language.

Note Cart Viper does not automatically translate your product text to German you must enter it in German.

Below is an example of a multi lingual store, you can use the "global sites" option at the top to change the store locale:
