Hi,

Your store looks like it is just what we need for our digital downloads, however I'm having trouble with the free trial.

Installation was successful. 10 modules installed. Successfully created an admin page, put the admin module on it, entered the required store settings.

The problem I am experiencing manifests in the Licensing link in the Store Admin column of the Admin module. Clicking on that link gives me the following error:

An unexpected error has occurred! DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at CartViper.Modules.Store.WebControls.LicenseAdmin2.GenerateDto(IQueryable`1 licenses, IQueryable`1 storeInstances, IList`1 portals) at CartViper.Modules.Store.WebControls.LicenseAdmin2.LoadStoreDto() at CartViper.Modules.Store.WebControls.LicenseAdmin2.LoadStores() at CartViper.Modules.Store.WebControls.LicenseAdmin2.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) at System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at CartViper.Modules.Store.Components.StoreControlBase.OnLoad(EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

In the Event Viewer I see the same message.

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu Chromium/28.0.1500.71 Chrome/28.0.1500.71 Safari/537.36
DefaultDataProvider: DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider, DotNetNuke.SqlDataProvider
ExceptionGUID: d11de451-be3c-44da-96af-c611c14079a8
InnerException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
FileName:
FileLineNumber: 0
FileColumnNumber: 0
Method: CartViper.Modules.Store.WebControls.LicenseAdmin2.GenerateDto

I have tried to install the store twice, both times a clean install.  Everything appears to work except the licensing, which means I can't test the checkout.

My setup:
DNN 6.2.9 (2)
IIS 7.5 on Windows Web Server 2008R2
App pool is running .NET 4.0
jQuery Version 1.7.2
jQuery UI 1.8.16
Cart Viper v3.0.0  (Installed from CartViperPA_3.0.0d)
SQL Server Enterprise 10.50.1600.1 (x64) on
Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
IIS running behind Nginx reverse proxy
Custom skin, but I have tried it with the default skin and still get the error.
Browsers used to test: Chrome, Chromium, IE10

Any clues?

Thanks,

James.

Hi,

Apologies that you are having issues with the free trial, do you get an error when you attempt to checkout as in theory if you are within the 14 day trial period you should not need to upload a license or change anything in the license admin in order to checkout?

Would it be possible to send me a host username / password along with the url of where the module is installed so I can see the issue? nigel@cartviper.com

Thanks
Nigel.

Nigel,

Thanks for the quick response.

Testing does not make it to the checkout as there is no checkout button displayed in the Account module. Also, the text "Your license has either expired or is invalid and your customers are therefore unable to checkout." is displayed in the Account module.

I'll send you an email re: host access.

James.

For those who may be experiencing this issue:

The issue was not with Cart Viper per se, but with a custom language culture we were using on the site. I changed the default language to US and the license install worked. I have not been able to determine what it is about our language file that was causing issues, but setting our site default language back to our custom culture after the install of the license has not caused any problems. Everything works just fine.

We have since purchased the cart. The support has been excellent; timely and helpful. From my point of view, one of the best parts of this product is the documentation. Having my client ask me how to do certain things with the shop and being able to point them to well written and comprehensive documentation has saved me hours.
