Hi, some great updates to the module which look really impressive. Just testing the product import and realise i think i have to manually create the category hierarchy before the import? It would be great if the import process could create the categories as we have quite a few to add which could take some time. Am i understanding this correctly?
Thanks.

Hi

We like the idea of being able to import categories via CSV data. At the moment you only have the ability to manual create them via the web interface.

The ability to import categories directly from a CSV file will be added to Road Map 1.2

Mark

I second the request for auto-adding the categories during import. We have over 14,000 items and over 200 categories/subcategories and manually adding them is tedious.

I would also request that you provide for your import routine to "update" the current products based on ModelNumber. We get periodic product update files from our vendor and deleteing and readding the items is not going to work. (itegrity contraints, etc)

It would also be nice to be able to Export the current products so they can be bulk edited in another program and then re Imported (Updated).

Pre formatted exports that support other applications (such as Froogle) would be a "nice to have" too.

Thanks

Hi,
We have currently added the ability to auto-create categories into the road map for release 1.2 which should be released shortly.
We will add the ability to update products via the import routine for release 1.3.
We currently do support exporting products, the product catalogue supports IPortable allowing you to export the products catalogue in xml format, however as yet there is as yet no supporting import method once you have edited them.

Thanks Nigel.
