I have been preparing my site to upgrade from DNN 6.1.5 to 7.3 and CV from 1.6.2? to CV 3.2.  I performed the following with no errors: Removed iFinity, enable .net 4/4.5. The site was functional after these changes.  I download and install CV 3.2 and installed it with no problems or error messages. I now get endless 302 redirects on any page with a CV module. The only pages that work are the Host pages and a "Notes Private" page that does not have a CV module, note that Admin pages do not work as it ended up with CV modules.  I tried disabling Friendly URl and that did not help.  I added a new test page and in the headed where I have the minicart it added about 10 copies of it.  I deleted then from this test page and the page still does not work.  Using Fiddler I see it tries to go to http://bestplaceforphotos.com/Default...

Any ideas?  the site is www.bestplaceforphots.com.

Thanks,

John

Hi

John can you get a screen shot of the response in fiddler. It should have some information to explain what is happening.

I was able to login as Host and switch to Layout view. I then removed the CV modules on the admin pages and opened the Event viewer.  The errors were due to no Razor support.  I installed the Razor module on DNN 6.1.5 and then the error went away. You should add this as a prerequisite in your instructions for the upgrade - I did find it towards the end of the manual.   I also had to reassign my license to my store.  So all is working now.  I just need to learn about some of the new features since CV 1.6.  I'm trying to setup the Category per page - something I had requested a while back.

Thanks for your help and I'm glad to see more regular updates taking place.

Hi John

I think from 6.2 of DNN the Razor module is install as standard, which would make the install much easier.
You should find a lot of new features and improvements in the latest release compared to Cart Viper 1.6.

I just upgraded from CV 1.6.0 to 3.2 on a dnn 6.7 instance, and ran into the same problem.  RAZOR was not installed on 6.7, and must only be installed on dnn v7.0 and above by default.

Although I was able to fix this problem by installing RAZOR, I did encounter problems with pages not loading from my main menu.  Seeing I was not sure which module broke the menu system, I did a restore, then installed RAZOR first before upgrading CV.  The site appears to be working correctly now.

I would recommend to anyone in the same situation to install RAZOR FIRST (if not already installed), before upgrading an older version of CV.

Seeing CV 3.2 is out and the download for the manual is still for 3.1, it wouldn't hurt placing this warning in the upgrade section of the manual.  The few minutes it takes to update the manual could save someone else hours of grief.

Steve
