Hello,

We have a CV shop on our large website, which we are in the process of upgrading to a responsive skin.

If we were to start with a fresh DNN install (rather than trying to get all the modules/panes to match up....), is there any way to get the CV shop from the old skin to the new one without having to rebuild it one product at a time?

Again, full disclosure: we are content providers, NOT developers...

Thanks for your help.

PatJ

The latest version of Cart Viper supports importing and exporting the whole catalog. I haven't used it yet, but it's there.

I'd take a backup of the current website, install the website locally, upgrade to the latest version of Cart Viper. Then export the catalog from the old website and import it into the new website.

Hi,

We do have a new feature in 3.1.0 where you can backup the entire store catalog (product, categories and facets) to an XML file and then import them into another instance of Cart Viper. However in your scenario I would not recommend doing this as it will not restore your orders / settings etc.

It may be more work in the short term but upgrading your existing portal would be best as your customers will lose all their order history etc and the store admin their order data.

Thanks
Nigel.
