Most of my site is reasonably fast.  I'm not making heavy use of cart viper so I guess my store is not accessed often.  When I do access it, it is very slow to initially load.  Once it is loaded it is ok.

You can see this at http://myelectrical.com

I guess that the first time the dll are loading.  Is there anyway to avoid this, or is it just a fact of life that without the store being frequently visited it is going to be slow on the first load.

Hi Steven

I've just visited the store right now and its pretty quick. So I guess its not been unloaded from memory.

You are correct, when the worker process has unloaded the DLLs it can take a while for it all to spin back up. What is the delay in seconds you are seeing when that occurs?

Also can you tell me what version of Cart Viper you are running?

Regards

Mark

Mark,

Just timed the delay at 57 seconds.  When everything is loaded, it is quick.

I'm using version 3.0.1 of the cart.

Hi Steven

So do you have a lot of DLLs in the bin folder? How many files do you have in that folder?

What are the specifications of the server?

Regards

Mark

Mark,

111 (one hundred eleven) DLL.  I am slowly trying to reduce these by eliminating some modules in use.  Most of them are DNN, SunBlogNuke, CartViper and System.  About 12 ZLDNN module DLL, which I will be eliminating soon.  Rest are things like Telerik, and bits and pieces which have come with DNN or minor modules.

Server is a VPS.  Not sure of the exact details, but 2 cores, 2000MB Ram, Windows 2008 R2, 64bit. It's with JodoHost.
