Hello..
It's been a while and needed to re-create my account; guess that's a good thing as we've been running CartViper for 3 years now without any issues. ha-ha..

Anyway, I notice in the documentation for the First Data Connect Payment Gateway, you mentioned that "An SSL certificate is not required for this gateway as payment is not taken directly on
the site.". But, it's not quite entirely true.

We've found that some browsers (namely Firefox and Safari thus far) will pop-up a security warning box informing the end-user that they're transmitting information un-secured and in the case of Firefox, explicitly states something about a credit card number, etc.  Knowing that CartViper is only transmitting the status of the order (completed, failed, etc) as well as the order confirmation code, this should be fine.

But since people are making the order using their credit cards and they don't know what information is being transmitted between the sites, we've had about 10% of all orders not get properly updated because people "OK" this box thus canceling the final order steps and their order isn't updated properly in the store.

I have to manually update the database table with the proper information and in some cases, people re-order five minutes later (sometimes multiple times).  Just me, but if I don't get a confirmation e-mail, I call or e-mail to find out why.  ha-ha..

To combat this, this year we're finally getting an SSL certificate and making the cart viper pages secure.  Hopefully this will resolve our issues.

Anyway, thanks for a great product.  -Jeff
