After placing an order, two emails are immediately received by the user. One confirms their order and contains the details of their order. The other one is a status update. Is it possible to do away with the status update? It is a little annoying to get an order confirmation and then immediately along with it, a status update.

Hi Tom,

If you go to store admin -> store info -> store email templates and enable "custom email templates" you should then see checkbox that you can enable to "disable order status changed email".

Hello Nigel,

Thank you for the response but that is not exactly what the client wants. That disables all status updates.

They would like the disable the initial Status Update because this causes there to be two emails, the order confirmation and the initial status update. After the initial status update they want all others to to email normally.

We looked for an easy way to make this happen but couldn't find anything. Any suggestions?

I am afraid that is how that setting works, its all status updates emails. We would need to implement some custom programming to get this to work how your client desires, if you would like a quote please email me: nigel@cartviper.com
