Hi,

I need some help with generating registration code for digital download locker.

When unregistered user purchases a digital downloadable product, a registration code is sent to him with the mail through which he can access digital product.

Is this random registration code saved in some table ? if yes can you please tell me which table. And name of Store procedure if used any.

Thanks,

Navneet

Hi,

Its stored in the table CVStore_UserRegistrationCode and you can use the stored procedure CVStore_Get_Order_RegistrationCode to get an orders registration code.

Thanks
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

Registration code is generated incase of guest purchase only or for all users ?

There were some guest purchases on my website.

They received email from the website that click here to download digital items that you purchased. But when they click here opens the website link which is http://www.demowebsite.org/default.aspx?tabid=244&pageid=CustomerDownloadLocker

and shows

The resource cannot be found.

Option to generate registration code is checked for digital download in general settings is already checked. what could be the issue ?

Hi,

To answer all 3 of your posts in a single reply:

To be clear the registration code is not generated for anonymous users, also it is not actually used by Cart Viper. It allows you a random code to be generated and assigned to an order, that you could then use in some offline process to record who received which digital download. So if you do not need this, do not use this feature as it seems to be causing confusion.

This link http://www.demowebsite.org/default.aspx?tabid=244&pageid=CustomerDownloadLocker is not a direct link to the download the files (for security purposes we do not expose these) , it should just take you to the page on your website with the "cart viper my account" module on it. This URL does not seem to have any pages on it , is the URL correct?

I would not suggest writing your own code to deliver the digital download files, just let CV handle this as there are a number of security checks we perform and as they are stored in the dnn file system they are not stored as "direct links" that you can just output. You would need to reference DNN's assemblies to then lookup and serve the file.

Thanks
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the reply.

The URL is correct(except demowebsite). This is the same URL that the purchaser has received in his email to download the items. I was thinking of writing custom code because link is not opening.

What can i do to resolve this issue ? There are no error logs in event viewer. Customer is not able to download his items after purchase.

Thanks,

Navneet
