The "Share With A Friend" feature in the store uses a hyperlink of the form:

https://www.domain.com/DesktopModules/CartViper/# 

While this link is handled properly via JavaScript in the module, it appears as a "forbidden" link to link checkers and spiders that ignore JavaScript. This in turn generates lots of error messages about Cart Viper pages. If possible, please use a more "spider-friendly" URL that won't be forbidden. Thanks!

Hi,

I think rather than look to fix this in CV, we will replace the share with a friend feature with:

https://www.addthis.com/get/sharing 

Their solution allows you to email to a friend and a number of other items that we don't support, so rather than re-invent the wheel we will replace our limited share with a friend with theirs. In the meantime you can just edit your ProductDetail.htm template and remove the share token and drop their javascript onto the template to get this working.

Two cautions about services such as AddThis (or ShareThis). They don't always "play nice" with responsive skins, so make sure you test this to make sure you're happy with it. And some clients balk at including any outside scripts into their site because it represents a potential security hole. I don't think either of these are "showstoppers" -- just something to be aware of.
