Hi Team,

I have turned one of my sites into a sort of 'daily deal' site where I add new products everyday. As part of this I want to send out a newsletter at around 12pm each day with the new products that have been added. I have set up CV newsletters and set 1 in the frequency fields, however it seems that with this setting every time I add a new product a newsletter instantly gets sent to all the subscribers

Question 2: is it possible to set what time the newsletter goes out?

Thanks
Charles

Hi Charles,

Selecting 1 in the dropdown list should indicate that it will be sent every 1 days, if you go to host -> scheduler and look at the list of jobs in the schedule can you find the one with "CartViper.Modules.Store.Scheduler.ProductNewsLetterScheduler" listed as the "full class name and assembly" can you confirm it is due to run every 1 days?

We cant specify an exact time as we rely on the DNN inbuilt scheduler to run this and they don't let you specify a time, what you could do though is disable the scheduler in the store admin. Then at 12pm re-enable it so the next start time would be in 24 hours time. Note even then the newsletter will only be sent at approx this time.

Thanks
Nigel.

Hey Nigel,

'Time lapse' in the scheduler is set to 31 days - having tested further it seems even editing an existing product automatically sends out a new newsletter

Not sure whats going wrong

Cheers

Ignore my last email, I have a few portals with stores so i was getting it confused with another portal. Its quite hard to tell which schedule task goes with which portal. Not sure if this is related but I just went to check event logs and there is an exception being thrown around every 20 seconds:

Hi Charles,

Yes each portal will have its own scheduler, so it is difficult to tell which scheduler belongs to which store.
With regards the error below, I suggest when I give you the new version with the custom feature I am implementing for you this week I will send over the .pdb files to put in your bin folder. This will mean the line number that is causing the issue will be outputted in the event viewer, we can then look at implementing a fix for this and hopefully the scheduler issues will be resolved.

Thanks
Nigel.
