My client has been running CV v1.6.1 for quire some time now. Problem is that the database has reached the hosting company's limit of 200MB.

I noticed that the CVStore_OrderAttributes is taking up about 25% of the space in the database. The data in it doesn't seem to even be accessible anywhere in the UI from what I can tell.

Is it safe to delete old or all data to clear space...

Hi

No don't delete that table, the attributes tables are important and hold important information that is surfaced in the UI.

What I would is run this script (you'll need to run this from SQL Management Studio, it might not execute in the host > SQL page).

https://gist.github.com/markmcavoy/f2...

This will tell you which tables are taking the space once you have run the script please provide me with the results and I'll help point you in the correct direction.

Regards

Mark

I had run a similar query to get the info. As a temporary fix I shortened the length of the [name] column from 512 to 50 in the CVStore_OrderAttributes table since the max length was only 34. Seems to be an awful waste of space:

I think we are going to move the database to the cloud anyway since 200 MB pretty restrictive these days.

Hi

I would run these two queries to clean up the database

delete
FROM [CVStore_User_Product_List_Categories]
where anonymousId is not null
go

DELETE FROM [CVStore_CartItems]
DELETE FROM [CVStore_Cart]
go

Once you have done that then shrink the database using SQL Management Studio and that should free up some space.

WOW! That brought the database down by 75MB, a 30% gain in available space!

Thank you SO much for this! I'll probably have to do this as a part of our regular maintenance routine.

Cheers!
