I would like to edit the spelling on the New York county names but I cannot find where the dropdown list is populated.  Editing the county names in the database table CVStore_USA_STATE_COUNTY_TAX seems to have no effect on the names in the dropdown list itself.  Where would I find the list that populates the dropdown?  Thanks--

Hi,

The counties names are hard-coded into CV and cannot be edited, can you let us know why you want to change the spelling? Is there a typo, if so let us know and we will release a patch with the corrected spelling.

Thanks
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

There are two issues, actually.  First, I believe there is a typo in the county list.  I believe Wyoming County is misspelled "Wyomning" in your list.  I could be wrong as I am not from New York, but I checked it against another source and they had "Wyoming."

Coming across the typo made me wonder if the county list could be put to another use.  I am configuring CV for a customer with an online furniture store.  The shoppers will make their purchase online and then choose one of three brick-and-mortar locations at which to pick up their order.  The tax rate depends on which store they choose for pickup, not their billing address.  So what I need is for the customer to choose a store location from a list of three items and for the cart to use the tax rate assigned to that store.  I had wondered if the NY county list could be edited to display those locations, since you can assign a unique tax rate to each county.  Perhaps I am going about this the wrong way, so if there is another way to accomplish this I would appreciate some help in where to look.  We do not have to have a separate state and local rate, just a flat percentage for each store location.  Thanks--

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the heads up I have corrected that typo in the latest version, note the build number is the same so you will have to select "repair install" when prompted by DNN:

The county list is hardcoded into CV so would not easily lend itself to that, what I suggest is we write you a custom singlepage checkout that would have an additional drop down list that contains the store locations for the customer to select. At that point we would calculate the tax rate based upon the defined store tax rate and charge the customer this amount, up until this point and they are just browsing the store we would use the standard CV tax rules defined.

Does that sound like it would work for your client, to discuss this further please email me nigel@cartviper.com

Thanks
Nigel.
