I am having issues returning a message from the pre checkout notification. I used the example referenced in the documentation, but I am not able to approve the order or return a message to the user informing them that the order is invalid. I think I must be returning the response improperly because it never proceeds to the payment provider.


In processor_ProcessingOrder from your example, I added the code to send a response:

string msg = "<result><message>Test Fail Message</message><valid>False</valid></result>";

        Response.Clear();

        Response.ContentType = "text/xml";

        Response.Write(msg);

        Response.End();


Am I missing something or doing this wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Eric,

Your code is correct it is just in the wrong place, as this is a pre-checkout notification the order does not have a status so the processor_ProcessingOrder event is not being called and your code is not being executed. I have modified Processor.cs to include the return, so if you overwrite your version with the attached it should work as expected and output the message.
