Hi all,

I am reasonably new to CV and am having a small layout issue. What I want to do is have users directed to a "sub category" page when they click on the top level menu category. For example if the menu item is "DVD's" rather than go straight to the page with all dvds on it I want it to go to a page showing all sub categories e.g horror, comedy etc.

I know I could manually code a page with sub categories and point the sub category to that page, but can CV create this all for me somehow without the work arounds?

Thanks,
Charles

Hi,

If you modify the CategoryContainer.htm template and add in the token:
[SUBCATEGORYIMAGES]

When you browsing a category it will then output the category images and names for all the subcategories of the currently selected category. That should give you the layout you require.

Thanks
Nigel.

OK next question: I don't want the "share with friend" facebook like/share link on my product details page- I tried voiding the [EMAILFRIEND] token in productdetails.htm but the link is still there- I cant find any other css that controls this?

Not sure how to delete a post so please ignore this

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to modify the look and feel of the subcategory items separately to the detailed display? I notice both are controlled by img.StoreProductImage and span.StoreProductModelName, however I want to edit the layout of 'ProductList' seperately to that of 'ProductDetail'. I have tried manually overriding the css but that has caused a whole lot of issues
