Hello,
I have 2 viper catalog catalogs in 2 different pages (example a and b), one is for viewing a category (example aa) and one for another (example bb). When I view the item list in the wish list, however, I have the problem that product links point to the same module without differentiating the categories. I would like the product links to open the product of the category page set.

You can help me?

Hi,

When we display a product URL in a module that is separate to the Cart Viper catalog our default behavior will be to load it in the main Cart Viper catalog with the first category assigned to the product selected in the URL.

As the wishlist does not currently support Razor scripts there would be no way to change it to work as per your needs, I will add this feature to our road map for a future release.

Regards

Hi, as I said I was able to use url rewrite in the cart list, because the category is present in the item url. Can you give me a solution to at least make the urls in the wishlist list include the category like in the cart?

Another very important question: what is the impact of an eventual module update? We had to modify a lot of files in DesktopModules\CartViper for our project, will it be possible, for example, to just update the dll and run db scripts? Or do I have to update the entire module, meaning that I have to put the site offline for several hours and invest resources to go back to every change made and make sure everything works and looks as intended?

Hi

As Nigel has said we don't expose that parameter/data in the wishlist. What Nigel suggested was for us to add to the product road map the ability to create a razor template that would be used by the wishlist module to render the content to the page.
This would then give you scope to customize and provide the category that the a wishlist product is assigned to and potentially then create some type of url rewrite to push the browser to the correct category page.
If you are interested in having this featured developed quickly you could always sponsor it?

So if you have changes the ascx files you'll need to take care when upgrading. When the upgrade happens all the ascx files are replaced with files in the zip PA. This means your changes would be lost.
What you'd need to do is perform a backup offline on a local copy of the site after you have taken a backup of folder containing the ascx file (DesktopModules/CartViper) then just use WinMerge or similar to compare your post upgrade ASCX with the upgraded folder.
Its not that hard to do.
The probelm with just just running the scripts and copying the DLLs is that if we have added a new asp.net control to the ascx then it will generate a null reference since your version of the ASCX will not have this change.

Regards

Mark
