OK, never mind, see it's your tax table. Would still like to know about the order table for pdf stamping.

One suggestion is to add the ability to assign an order multiple roles in the event of a bundled purchase.

Hi. I'm installing CV with an eye to purchasing; so far, I like what I see. I have a question about pricing.

I've assigned a product a price of $399 et al, with no other options setup. Yet, I see the following on the store catalog page:

$399.00 - $2,932.65 Tax Incl.

$689.00 - $5,064.15 Tax Incl.

$869.00 - $6,387.15 Tax Incl.

$1,499.00 - $11,017.65 Tax Incl.

Every product in the cart shows this type of pricing; can't see in the docs what's going on.

Also, we've built a customer PDF stamping routine for our downloads; is there any trouble getting access to the orders table so we extract the customer data for stamping?

Hi Rick

I'm guessing you've got the tax value entered incorrectly.
If you're state has a tax of 10% you would enter this into the tax settings in Cart Viper as 0.10.
Just check those settings.

We have something called the order notification callback which allows Cart Viper to send an order notification to url this is one way you could do the PDF stamping after the order has been created.
Page 138 of the manual http://www.cartviper.com/portals/0/CartViperUserGuide_1_4_1.pdf has more details about that.

The other option is read the orders directly out of the table.

Regards

Mark

Mark, what's the name of the table (s) with the orders stamping info?

Another question about the tax table. Softletter is incorporated in the state of Connecticut with a state tax of 0.065 and the cart correctly calculates this. When I'm logged in, the tax rate shows in the store catalog. My login info includes my state of residence. The only state I've setup a tax rate for is CT and no VAT is setup.

If someone logs in from another state or is just viewing the store, I'll assume the CT tax rate is NOT shown? That the person will only be shown tax rates after they purchase a product and they provide a CT address?

Also, a question about the digital download locker.  This is a very nice feature; maybe TOO nice. Is there anyway to limit the number of downloads? To clear the locker of a live link after X period of time?

Hi,

The orders are stored in:

cvstore_orders
cvstore_orderdetails

There are also attributes relating either to the order or a line item in the order these are stored in:
cvstore_orderattributes
cvstore_orderdetailsatrributes

When a user is browsing the store we use the location of the store as defined in the store admin to calculate the VAT/Tax for, I am guessing the store address is located in Connecticut? So that would explain why we are charging tax when you are browsing the store and the DNN profile is set to a different state.

We don't support that feature at the moment, we could look to add it to our road map for a future release.

Thanks
Nigel.

I need to understand this further. Are you saying that the system shows CT sales tax to shoppers even if they're NOT from CT? That someone fron New Hampshire, which has no sales tax, will see a sales tax? Will they be charged a sales tax based on CT rates even though they are located in New Hampshire?
