The search module i'm trying to use in my multilingual (EN-IT) site is randomly working only for one language. It seems to switch behavior when I save some settings but I've honestly tried to retrace every step and still it either finds results in IT and not in EN, or the other way around. As I'm speaking, now it only finds products in EN. - for example, .../en-gb/Products/SearchValue/honey returns the correct results, but when I change to italian and launch a new search, ../it-it/Prodotti/SearchValue/miele , I have zero results while expecting several of them.

Of course the first thing I made sure of is that all the pruducts I expect to find (and their category) are under the appropriate language and have permissions for all users.

More specifically, here's what I did:

1. Placed the search module in a localized test page, I'll send you the link privately if you want. At first I tried "hiding it" in the home page but I've moved it, since this is a production website. As soon as I've added them the first time, all worked well for a couple of searches, then the problem started to show up. NB: at random times during these tries, the search module "switched" working for the other language instead as explained before.

2. I've re-indexed the products for both languages, multiple times, and restarted the application for good measure, also multiple times; i did the re-indexing both in the search admin page and the product list (selecting the appropriate language).

3. enabled wildcard search (seems to work, eg. searching in EN for "fillet" and "fillets" yealds the same search results) and autocomplete (which doesnt' seem to work instead, which is another maybe related problem).

Suggestions?
Tnx,
V

Hi,

There was an issue if you forced a full re-index of the product catalogue, only the products in the default language would be indexed. If you download and install the latest version then once installed click the "re-index search" button it should correct the issue:
